King Cobra

"With King Cobra, I wanted to create a playful, tropics-inspired riff on a margarita—something that feels like a mini vacation in a glass. Guava, coconut, and lime form the flavor backbone, with the guava bringing a vivid, equatorial fruitiness that sets it apart. Derrumbes Durango mezcal adds depth with its subtle tropical fruit notes, offering a glimpse of mezcal's softer, more expressive side—an angle not often showcased in this style of cocktail. The name King Cobra felt like the perfect fit: a nod to both the regions where these ingredients grow and a cheeky reference to Cardi B, in keeping with the drink’s light-hearted energy. " —LT

Lime wedge
1 teaspoon Himalayan pink salt, for rimming
Pinch of Dragon fruit powder, for rimming (optional)
1 ounce Derrumbes Durango mezcal
½ ounce Rhine Hall guava eau-de-vie
¾ ounce Kalani coconut liqueur
¾ ounce fresh lime juice
¼ ounce agave syrup

In a shallow bowl, stir together the salt and dragon fruit powder. Rub the lime wedge along the upper ½ inch of a double old-fashioned glass, then roll the wet portion in the salt. Fill the glass with ice cubes. Shake the remaining ingredients with ice, then strain into the prepared glass. No garnish.
